Veterinary Engagement Specialist
How long have you worked at Trupanion?
Since December 2012.
What’s your role at the company?
Veterinary Engagement Specialist.
Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?
Yes one dog named Ginsey, (short for Ginsberg, Allen Ginsberg is my favorite poet) and she is a Border Collie mix.
Do you bring your pets to work?
Yes and she absolutely loves it!
Do you have a favorite story you want to share about your pet(s)?
One time Ginsey and I were on a walk and ahead of us was a mom and her young daughter walking our way. When the little girl saw Ginsey she smiled, squealed, pointed and tugged on her mom’s pants. When we got close the Mom let me know that her daughter was CRAZY about dogs, (apparently even her first word was “dog”) and wondered if it would be okay for her to say hi. Since Gins is so great with kids I said absolutely! The little girl and Gins were the same height, and as she reached out to pet Ginsey, she was greeted with a kiss to the cheek. The little girl laughed and it was just such a precious moment. I’m so proud of Ginsey for being so smart, obedient, patient and gentle with all people and critters she meets!
My favorite thing to do is:
Traveling, movies, music/concerts, long boarding, skiing, karaoke & sports (watching and playing).
If I could go anywhere in the world it would be:
Europe, New Zealand and Thailand (My sister just moved there to teach abroad).
What I like about working at Trupanion:
When I was a kid I wanted to be a veterinarian but as I got older I realized the sad truth that not every animal can be saved. Emotionally I would not be able to handle the “tough stuff” you experience working in a clinic but working at Trupanion allows me to still be able to fulfill my childhood dream of helping animals get the best care possible. It is enjoyable and rewarding to be able to help people and their pets. Back to the Leadership Team
